CBG Open Mic Adventure

So, I went to the Burren last night - it's a very cool Irish Bar in Davis Square, Somerville MA that has one of the best open mics around here (and there are 10+ open mics most nights around here - check it out)

Now at this open mic at the Burren, the show starts at 8, but if you're not there before 5 you probably won't get on stage.

Well, I didn't feel like rushing over there after work yesterday, but I did want to go hear some of my favorite regulars and give CDs to several folks who had given me CDs or helped me out in other ways... but I took along the Cyclops CBG just in case.

Got there just in time to be the last one to sign up and got the 7:45 preshow slot - an OK time to play but mostly playing to an almost empty room.

That was OK... I wasn't feeling like I was gonna play very well anyway - boy was I wrong... It was one of those nights when the inspiration grabs you and you just shine... and wail, lol.

I got lots of "I can't believe how great that was!" and "what awesome authentic blues!" comments... And, even though I was playing to only 10 people, I sold a CD to a very enthusiastic new fan :)

Must have been something in the air, 'cause all those regulars I went to hear put on excellent sets as well. Just an all around good night.
